Referee Training
Referees are a vital part of the game! They help to ensure that the game is Fun, Fair, and Safe for all. The game can not start or be played without you. Besides training, here in Prescott (Region 172) we provide our Referees equipment, lunches, water and drinks during Saturday games, and support. We offer help in answering questions and clarification on calls. All referees will make mistakes during the course of a match, and after the match stop by the tent to rest, eat, grab a drink, check-in for your next match, or ask a question if you think you made a wrong call in the moment. We are here to help!
All AYSO Referees are trained and Certified to be Referees, and have completed the following MANDATORY requirements:
-Volunteer Application
-Level 2 Background Check
-AYSOs Safe Haven
-CDC Concussion Awareness Training (this is optional, but preferred)
-Sudden Cardiac Arrest
-SafeSport (renewed yearly)
as well as the Region Referee Certification. We can also offer advancement to our referees if they are looking promote their Badge Level to Intermediate, Advance, or National Referee.

Regional Referee Training:
Aug 24th - 9am to 4pm at Kuebler Park (lunch is provided, and water available all day)
If you can't make the full course, you can complete the Online Companion Course, notify us, and we can schedule the Field portion. After completing the Field requirements you will be certified.
New Referees will NOT be asked to Center Matches, we prefer you start as an AR (Assistant Referee) to gain confidence and experience first, and then only if you feel ready to move into a Center position.
